Wow, I just heard that Dick Clark passed away!  So sad to hear that!  He was 82 years old.  I remember growing up watching him on TV ....actually my parents also recall watching him in their youth...so he's been around for a long, long time.  For many years I would tune in on New Year's Eve and watch his "Rockin' Eve" show.  It just hasn't been the same since he had his stroke and I can barely watch Ryan Seacrest (a Dick clark wannabee) host the show now.

Initially Dick worked in Philadelphia, the original home of American Bandstand and my hometown.  He was dubbed "America's Oldest Teenager" because he had such a youthful appearance.   For decades this guy never appeared to age!  Actually, it wasn't until after his stroke that you could see him start to show his age.  It was painful to watch him on "Rockin' Eve" but at the same time I had to admire him for getting out there and doing what he loved to do, and in the end, I was cheering for him to keep doing it.

He was a powerhouse of entertainment, from "Rockin Eve" & "American Bandstand" to  "$25,000 Pyramid" and "TV's Bloopers & Practical Jokes".  Dick, you will be missed.
